Congratulations to Julie Collins, RN, BSN for being named manager of the quarter. Julie has been a
part of the Lakeland Regional family for 18 years, and takes pride in her role as the manager of Perioperative and Imaging Services.
On a day-to-day basis, Julie oversees Pre-op Holding Room, PACU, Anesthesia, and Endoscopy Lab operations. She is responsible for daily physician collaboration, strategic planning and promoting employee engagement. Those who work with her say she is a wonderful counselor and mentor.
“LRMC has some wonderful managers, but Julie is the queen of all managers. She encourages staff to be the best they can be, demonstrates compassion toward patients and staff, and is just fun to be around,” said Vicki Alford, RN, PACU.
“Julie is a role model of the kind of manager I want to be. Working on committees with her, I see her great humor and commitment. As a new manager, when I get overwhelmed, Julie is one I can call, and I am so thankful for her help,” said Lynn Sadler, manager of Radiology.
Among Julie’s personal achievements are when she was named Nurse of the Year (2003) and Nurse Manager of the Year (2008) by the Polk County Nursing Consortium.
On a personal note, Julie enjoys socializing with her friends and family, and she is often found listening to music at the Red Door. She travels to New York City on a regular basis to be with her son and hopes to do more world-wide traveling within the next five years. One goal of Julie’s is to improve her overall health and fitness and she recently began working with a personal trainer.
