Nikki McLain, DPT
Nikki attended the University of South Florida earning a Doctorate in Physical Therapy and Bachelor of Science Degree in Biomedical Sciences. She completed clinical internships in an acute rotation (on the trauma floor) at Tampa General Hospital, in outpatient adult orthopedics at Select Physical Therapy in Tampa, and in pediatrics at UCP of Central Florida (a charter school serving children with special needs).
Through her employment with UCP of Central Florida, Nikki worked with current students and graduates to provide educationally relevant therapy services. She sought to improve their independence and develop appropriate skills for children with a variety of diagnoses including autism, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, developmental delay, chromosomal abnormalities, as well as Dandy-Walker and Goldenhar syndromes. She also worked with appropriate representatives to recommend custom orthotics and braces, as needed by patients, to improve foot and ankle position, balance and gait.
Nikki enjoys volunteering with the Special Olympics and is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).
