Congratulations to Maureen Leckie, RN, BSN, Emergency Services Director, for being named LRMC’s Director of Distinction. Leckie has been a part of the LRMC family for more than 31 years.
Leckie has long been regarded as a role model when it comes to respecting others and guiding her team members to make the best decisions for patients and fellow employees. As the E.D. director, she manages a devoted team to achieve LRMC’s organizational goals and objectives. Furthermore, she provides leadership in patient care delivery through consultation, education, project management, and project evaluation.
Prior to becoming E.D. director, Leckie served as Patient Satisfaction Director for five years. Under her leadership, the program reached new heights.
“Through Maureen’s leadership, we’ve achieved the highest patient satisfaction since it started. She is passionate about giving our patients the best care,” said Janet Fansler, RN, Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.
When Leckie was appointed as interim E.D. director last year, she was excited about the opportunity and challenges the new position would bring.
“After her first month in the E.D., the staff was so impressed that Maureen was asked to serve there permanently,” said Fansler. “Maureen has developed trust among the E.D. staff and throughout the organization. She has such a unique way of telling someone they have done something wrong that you feel good about it.”
One of the reasons Leckie excels in any challenge that comes her way is because of the high expectations she sets for herself.
“My goal is to create a world-class E.D. where others will learn from us and where we will have a long waiting list of staff wanting to join our team,” said Leckie.
Congratulations, Maureen! Thank you for your dedication to excellence.
