LRMC Honors Nursing Excellence 2009

Lakeland Regional Medical Center recently honored 19 nurses with the Excellence in Nursing award and honored two new nurses with Rookie of the Year awards.

This program was developed through LRMCs Nursing Shared Governance council to allow nurses to recognize their peers who exemplify excellence in nursing by creating the best health care experiences and who improve lives by delivering exceptional healthcare.

Nominees for the Excellence in Nursing Award must be registered or licensed practical nurses with at least 5 years of experience. Rookie of the Year recipients must be registered or licensed practical nurses with a minimum of 3 years in nursing.

Recipients must display LRMCs values of care, quality, stewardship, accountability, integrity and courtesy. They display excellence in their field and a commitment to clinical expertise.

This years Excellence in Nursing Recipients are:

  8. Connie Hutchins, RN – Staffing Resources
  9. Mary McCloud, RN – 7E
  10. Barbara Hughes, RN – B5
  11. Alice Peterson, RN – Education
  12. Bonita Preston, RN – 6E
  13. Bridget Prevatte, RN – B4
  14. Autumn Joy Rose, RN – TICU
  15. Carla Sauve, RN – Pediatrics
  16. Tracy Smith, RN – SICU
  17. Yurlondia Stevenson, RN – Labor & Delivery

The awards were presented on October 8, 2009 by President/CEO Jack Stephens and Chief Nursing Executive Janet Fansler.
