Free Victorian Tea Event for Breast Health Awareness 2009

In recognition of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Lakeland Regional Cancer Center and Lakeland Regional Medical Center are sponsoring a Victorian Tea on Friday, October 2, 2009 from 2:00 p.m. 4:00 p.m. at Highland Park Church of the Nazarenes Family Ministries building, located on 4730 Lakeland Highlands Rd. in South Lakeland.

Emceeing the event this year is Nancy Cattarius of Hall Communications.

The keynote speaker of the day is Dr. Lorraine Tafra, director of Anne Arundel Medical Center’s (AAMC) Breast Center in Annapolis. Dr. Tafra will be giving an update on breast cancer quality care. Dr. Richard Boothby, gynecologic Oncologist, will give a talk on Menopause and Breast Cancer, and former patient Lori Grode will share her inspirational story. The program will also feature a physician panel for questions and answers.

Registration opens at 1:00 p.m. and a Healthy Woman Expo will be held from 1:00 p.m. 2:00 p.m. A variety of booths related to womens health will be staffed to answer questions and provide information.

This event is free and open to the public. Seating is limited. Registration is required by calling (863) 687-1400 by. Each registered attendee will receive a goodie bag and a raffle ticket for drawings. Light refreshments will be served during the program.

The Victorian Tea is funded by the Lakeland Regional Medical Center Foundation.
