In order to provide an even safer environment for Lakeland Regional Medical Center’s (LRMC) patients and staff, effective Monday, October 10, entrances to the hospital – with the exception of the entrance to the ER – will be locked between the hours of 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. All entrances will be equipped with a video intercom to be monitored by LRMC’s security department. Should the clinical need arise to allow a guest to enter the facility, access will be granted by the security department.
Most will be unaffected by the change, as visiting hours are closed between 8 p.m. and 8 a.m. If patients needing medical attention reach a locked entrance, access will be granted by the security department representative who is monitoring the video intercom. If family members of patients have been asked to return to the hospital, the security department will receive confirmation from the appropriate unit, and then allow access.
At Lakeland Regional, our mission is to improve lives by delivering exceptional health care. By providing a safer environment in which our patients can heal and our staff can work is another way we are doing so. Thank you ahead of time for your cooperation and understanding.
