Congratulations Theresa Horne, Director of Nursing, Women’s, Children’s and Specialty Services, on being recognized as Director of Distinction
Theresa provides leadership as the Director of Nursing for Labor and Delivery/OB-ED, MBU, NICU, PEDS/PICU, SRD and CTS.
“It’s all about the babies,” said Beverly Roberts, Mother and Baby Manager. “Theresa is committed to doing what is right for the patient the first and every time.”
Theresa spent 20 years on active duty in the Army as a nurse. In 2003, she was deployed to Iraq for 11 months and worked as a Nurse Practitioner in a Combat Support Hospital. Currently, she is enrolled in an MBA program.
“Despite rumors, she does not make us drop and give her 10…very often,” Roberts jokingly continued. “Theresa lives by Tony Dungy’s motto ‘No excuses. No explanations.’”
In her spare time, Theresa enjoys running – she has completed a few half-marathons – reading and being with her family. Her husband, Paul, is a middle school video productions teacher. Theresa has three children, Alyson (16), Matthew (14) and Kayla (10).
“Based on your results, there is no doubt that you are so well-deserving,” said Janet Fansler, Chief Nurse Executive.
Theresa has been with Lakeland Regional since January of 2006. Thank you, Theresa, for all you do!
“I have been here for less than five years, but it has been so easy because I was so embraced,” Theresa said. “My passion is to make sure we treat our patients right. It is a privilege to work here.”
