LRMC makes it Easier and Faster for Outpatients to get Diagnostic Tests and Procedures
Friday, July 19 2013
Beginning Monday, July 22, all outpatients coming to Lakeland Regional Medical Center (LRMC) for a diagnostic test or procedure, such as laboratory services, diagnostic imaging (x-rays, CT scans, MRIs), endoscopy, bronchoscopy and pulmonary function, will experience a new centralized and streamlined process. Any patient who has a scheduled outpatient diagnostic test or procedure, other than one administered by a physician at LRMC, will go to a new Diagnostic Outpatient Registration area in the A Lobby of the hospital, through the A Entrance on the south side of the hospital.
Highlights of the improved process include:
Designated outpatient parking near the A Entrance
- Operating hours for scheduling and registration services have expanded – from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m., Monday – Friday.
- Laboratory services, e.g., blood draws, and EKGs, are conveniently offered right in the same area. For other outpatient diagnostic tests and procedures, patients will be escorted to those specialized areas.
- After an initial full registration, when an outpatient returns within the next 12 months for another diagnostic test or procedure, a “quick registration” process will speed up the process.
“This new process will save outpatients time while improving the overall experience,” said Kim Pyles, MEd, RRT, Associate Vice President of Patient Services. “Prior to this change, outpatients have had to go through the same lengthy steps as those receiving inpatient procedures.”
“We appreciate the collaboration of all involved to create a better outpatient experience for our patients who rely on Lakeland Regional for their healthcare services,” said Pyles.
