LRMC’s VP Human Resources Serves as 2010 ASHHRA President

Tuesday, October 19 2010

Lakeland Regional Medical Center is proud to congratulate Jeff Payne, VP Human Resources for his service as the 2010 President of the American Society for Healthcare Human Resources Administration (ASHHRA).  He recently presided over the organization’s annual national conference, held at the Tampa Convention Center, with more than 1,300 attendees.

ASHHRA is the nation’s only membership organization dedicated exclusively to meeting the needs of health care human resources practitioners and is recognized as the premier source of educational resources, industry research, HR tools, networking, and best practices for the health care HR professional.

Founded in 1964, ASHHRA represents more than 3,350 human resources professionals across the nation.  ASHHRA is governed by a 13-member board of directors, four standing committees, and more than 45 affiliated chapters who are all committed to enhancing the profession and moving forward toward one common goal – excellence in healthcare human resources.

In addition, Mr. Payne was included in a select group of thought leaders—human resource, risk management, health care quality and patient safety experts—who participated in the Thought Leader Forum where the focus was “Workplace Intimidation: The Underestimated Threat to Patient Safety” sponsored by ASHHRA and the American Society for Healthcare Risk Management (ASHRM).  The forum was held on Thursday, July 22 in San Diego.  Participants learned about the drivers of workplace intimidation, and the role that human resource and risk management professionals can have in eliminating intimidation from the workplace.

Thank you, Mr. Payne, for your dedication to LRMC and your profession.
