Local Health Providers Invited to NASMI Advances in Clinical Education Courses

On March 25-26, the North American Sports Medicine Institute (NASMI) will host a two-day, in-depth course called “Current Concepts in the Management of Upper and Lower Quarter Injuries” at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. The course is geared toward local health care providers and will focus on the most current information and tools available for evidenced-based rehabilitation programs.

NASMI has provided quality post-professional education courses since 1990. Dedicated to lifelong learning, they are nationally recognized with instructors who hold advanced degrees and clinical specializations in their respective areas of expertise.

Upon completion of this course, participants will have extensive knowledge in a variety of areas, including:

-         Relating upper quarter, hip and knee pathomechanics to injury mechanisms and subsequent design of  comprehensive functional rehabilitation

-         Performing special tests and synthesizing results for upper and lower quarter pathology

-         Utilizing postoperative protocols as a guide to rehabilitate a variety of surgical procedures for the shoulder, elbow, hip and knee

-         Developing effective and efficient rehabilitation programs for conservative and post-operative rehabilitation

Those who complete the course will receive a certificate of attendance for 16 contact hours.  Tuition for the course is $485, which includes a more than 200-page comprehensive course guide and reference manual.

This course is intended for physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, certified athletic trainers, occupational therapists, COTA’s and other health care professionals involved in the management of knee and shoulder pathology.  In addition, individuals working prevention and maintenance of a health lifestyle will find this course invaluable.
