Lakeland Regional Rehabilitation Experts Raise the Bar with Mastery Certification in Manual Therapy

Lakeland Regional’s rehabilitation services team members are now more equipped than ever to meet the needs of patients experiencing intense pain, immobilization and physical discomfort. Three of its staff members, Rizwana Mir, PT, CLT, MCMT; Steve Youngbood, PT, MCMT; and Kelly Giovannucci, PTA, CLT, MCMT recently received their Mastery Certification in Manual Therapy (MCMT) – a continuing education, comprehensive manual therapy certification program, focusing on:
• The treatment of Myofascial pain though trigger point therapy
• Muscle energy techniques to treat joint dysfunction
• Strain and counter-strain joint therapy
• The treatment of NeuroFascial dysfunction, including entrapment syndromes, radiculopathies, nerve compression syndromes, neuropathies, chronic pain problems
The certification was offered through Hands-On Seminars, the leader in manual therapy continuing education and publications. The comprehensive course involved hands-on learning, case-studies, and a written and practical examination.
