Lakeland Regional Health Systems Announces New Structure to Promote Quality and Efficiency of Care

Lakeland Regional Health Systems (LRHS) is taking a leadership position to provide the community with exceptional, quality care, while streamlining hospital processes. To help drive this imperative, LRHS has reorganized its clinical management team. This structural change will enhance Lakeland Regional Medical Center’s focus on quality, allowing for improvements in this area, which will also increase efficiency of care.
Beginning October 1, Mack Reavis M.D., will take on the position of Executive Vice President Clinical Integration/Chief Medical Officer. Dr. Reavis has more than 30 years’ experience as a physician with LRMC, including leadership positions within both his private practice and the hospital medical staff and LRHS/LRMC Board of Directors. In this new role, Dr. Reavis will oversee the clinical integration and alignment of the health system, medical staff, and current or potential strategic partners. As Chief Medical Officer, he will develop and manage the medical staff to ensure quality care while meeting the needs of the community.
This new structure will allow Joy Jackson, M.D., to bring her years of clinical experience and advocacy for quality and safety to the role of Chief Quality Officer/Chief Medical Informatics Officer. In this position, Dr. Jackson will focus on improvement of access, affordability, equitableness, patient safety, clinical outcomes, patient activation, and patient and family satisfaction. She will work with clinical chairs, chiefs and medical directors to develop an annual patient safety, quality and satisfaction improvement plan. Additionally, she will be responsible for the implementation of all clinical informatics.
