Join us for “Matters of the Heart” on February 15

Lakeland Regional Medical Center invites the public to take part in Matters of the Heart, an educational event dedicated to hearthealth, on Friday, February 15 from 2 until 3 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church,175 Lake Hollingsworth Drive in Lakeland. A health fair will be held prior to the program from 1:00 until 2 p.m.
Those who attend will hear from Nestor Dans, MD, a board-certified cardiovascular and thoracic surgeon, as he describes Lakeland Regional Medical Center’s newly opened Hybrid Operating Room. This is the only Hybrid OR in the area and one of only a handful in the state. Dr. Dans will share behind-the-scenes details about the innovative addition. He will also discuss how the Hybrid OR will transform care and improve lives by making new procedures possible.
Dr. Dans specializes in off pump bypass surgery, minimally invasive valve surgery, video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) including lobectomy, and aortic aneurysm surgery.
He received his medical degree from Tulane University in New Orleans, LA, where he also performed his internship in General Surgery. He went on to complete his residency in General Surgery at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH, which he followed with three fellowships in Critical Care/Trauma. Dr. Dans joined LRMC and Watson Clinic in 2011.
