In recognition of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Lakeland Regional Cancer Center and Lakeland Regional Medical Center are sponsoring a Victorian Tea on Friday, October 8, 2010 from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at Highland Park Church of the Nazarene’s Family Ministries building, located on 4730 Lakeland Highlands Rd. in South Lakeland.
Emceeing the event this year is Nancy Cattarius of Hall Communications.
Featured speakers include Dr. Solange Pendas, Surgical Oncologist, Breast Program Leader, who will answer questions regarding breast pain. Susan Kane, MPT, SCS, ATC, CSCS, Physical Therapist, Lakeland Regional Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine Clinic, will provide guidance on exercise after a cancer diagnosis. Dr. Richard Boothby, gynecologic Oncologist, will give a talk on Nutrition and Breast Health. And former patient Constance Kimbley will share her inspirational story. The program will also feature a physician panel for questions and answers.
Registration opens at 1:00 p.m., and a Healthy Woman Expo will be held from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. A variety of booths related to women’s health will be staffed to answer questions and provide information.
This event is free and open to the public. Seating is limited. Registration is required by calling (863) 687-1400 by Thursday, October 7. Each registered attendee will receive a goodie bag and a raffle ticket for drawings. Light refreshments will be served during the program.
