She is a visionary healthcare leader and a highly intellectual strategist able to resolve complex issues by relying on her vast knowledge of engineering and scientific principles. She is credited with assembling LRHS’s elite executive leadership team, comprised of some of the nation’s most accomplished and innovative leaders. Under her bold direction and unquenchable desire for continuous improvement, LRHS has expanded its scope of services and facilities and has risen to prominence on a national level. During her tenure, Lakeland Regional Medical Center has become the fifth largest hospital in Florida and is positioned to become a teaching hospital in partnership with USF Health.

Elaine joined Lakeland Regional Health Systems in 2010, immediately creating a strategic vision centered on medical staff collaboration and performance and patient safety improvements. Her fierce passion for patient and community well-being led her to actively seek new levels of partnerships and institutional provider integration to expand LRHS’s geographical reach. Designing and implementing state-of-the-art practices, she’s known for advancing engineering, information technology applications, and technological innovations. She doesn’t react to change. She leads change.

Overseeing the busiest single site emergency department in the entire state, she initiated a performance improvement effort, resulting in a redesigned facility and workflow. This implementation was the culmination of Elaine’s resolute commitment to advanced technologies and illustrates her ability to inspire and lead more than 4,500 employees to historic achievements with this critical improvement.

A hallmark of Elaine’s career is her tenacious pursuit of high-quality healthcare for all patients, and she works tirelessly on their behalf with community, legislative and business leaders, and physicians to improve health services. She serves on numerous community, professional, and corporate boards that reflect both her professional and personal interests. She was recently named to Becker’s Hospital Review Top 100 Non-Profit Hospital CEOs to Know.
